Some Memories of St Mary's Church Choir, Pilton in 1970s and 1980s

/media/flashcomm?action=mediaview&context=normal&id=498
Description:

Richard Westacott was a member of Pilton Church Choir in the 1970s and 1980s - in the days when Eric Ashton was Choirmaster and Rev James West was the vicar. Later he also sang under Choirmaster John Piper and Rev Anthony Geering.

This document is a short memory of his time in Pilton including the 'Darkness to Light' Service started by John Piper and held on Advent Sunday, William Isaac (who restored the organ), Rev Anthony Geering (who helped start the Pilton Festival) and the Misses Dennis and Harrison (who lived at Bradiford House).

This link takes you to a photograph of the choir in 1980: http://vimp.thepiltonstory.org/picture/Pilton-Church-Choir-1980/74f454ca...

Thank you to Richard Westacott for the memories.
