12 Pilton Street, the home of Braileys Engineers Ltd

12 Pilton Street, the home of Braileys Engineers Ltd /media/flashcomm?action=mediaview&context=normal&id=201
Description:

This photo shows the front facade of 12 Pilton Street, the home of Braileys Engineers Ltd, about 1960. Although the house was a business premises it was also home to John Brailey and his sister, Janet. The upstairs had 4 bedrooms. The rear bedroom was used as an office for the business. Downstairs there were a kitchen, dining room and front room on one side of the central hallway. The other side housed the reception and stores for the business.

A big fire in October 1947 had destroyed the whole of the business premises whilst Mr and Mrs Clifford Brailey the owners were away in London. Fortunately the house itself was saved and the business premises were promptly re-built.

Thanks to John Brailey and Janet Alford (nee Brailey) for the photograph and the information. Follow this link to more about the history of 12 Pilton Street:
