Description:

On VE (Victory in Europe) Day, 8 May 1945, at the end of World War II, a fancy dress competition was held for the children in Pilton House grounds. Mary Passmore (second from right on front row) won 3rd Prize as a fortune teller.

The children, where known, are: back row (l. to r.): ??, ??, ??, ??, Joan Huxtable, Margaret Murch, Doreen Ellis, and front (l. to r.): ??, Hedley Bengey, Terry White, Wendy Griffiths, ??, Mary Lee, Mary Passmore, Dennis Norman.
