This photograph, sent in by Maureen Dark, shows her grandfather Albert Thorne, second from the right, during World War I. Albert Thorne, known as Bert, lived at 7 Priory Gardens, was a bellringer in the Pilton Church and worked for Garfield Pearce, the dentist, in Boutport Street as a dental technician.
Albert also appears in the 1947 photograph of Pilton bellringers. Follow this link to see it:
