Nigel Mortimer, the son of Lydia May Mortimer, posted this photograph of, left to right, his aunt Olive Fewing (née Williams), his brother Michael Mortimer and his mother Lydia May Mortimer (also née Williams) sometime in the 1940s. Lydia May Mortimer liked to be called May. We speculate that this could well have been taken in Manning’s Pit with Roborough Hill in the background. Charlie and Jane Williams, the parents of Olive, May and another sister Nancy, lived at 30 Pilton Street.
