As part of improvements carried out by North Devon Council in the first half of 2013, three information boards were erected in Rotary Gardens, one at each corner, in July 2013. One set out 'The Creation of Rotary Gardens' and described the work done to create the gardens to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Barnstaple Rotary Club in 1974. The second one gave 'A Brief History of Pilton' and was prepared by Margaret Reed and Martin Haddrill of The Pilton Story.

This one is the third board, which provides a tree trail around the gardens. The trees in the trail are the Blue Atlas Cedar, Silver Birch, False Acacia, Copper Beech, Silver Maple, Lawson Cypress, Tulip Tree and English Oak. The last of these is shown on photographs of Pilton House from the late 19th century and is therefore probably at least 150 years old.
