Fred Thorne and his wife, Kate (see separate entry) Thorne were the parents of Jean (Elston) and Joyce Thorne and grandparents of Kevin Elston, Lynne Treloar, Anne (Humphreys), Richard Elston and Kate (Frisby). There are 10 great grandchildren. Fred and Kate lived in Priory Gardens and Ladywell, then on The Rock where Jean was born, then in Reform Street before their home there was demolished, and also in 117 Pilton Street. Fred died of TB in 1936, just after Jean was born, and is on the list in the porch of Pilton Church of Piltonians who fought in WW1. Kate Thorne died in 1953.
