Description:
This photograph shows Pilton milkman George Huxtable delivering milk in Braunton Road in 1944. George Huxtable’s dairy was at 32 Pilton Street and he had his cows on land on the north side of Pilton, around the area now covered by housing in Lynbro Road and probably some of Manning’s Pit. With him on his cart are Bryan Ashby (right) age about 4 and his brother Kenneth Ashby (left) age about 6.
