This photograph shows Jack and Margaret Smith with a neighbour outside the family home on Reform Street, Pilton, in the late 1940s. The cottage stood in what is now the car park of Pilton Auctions.
Many thanks to Malcom Smith, their younger brother (born 1950), for this photograph, which he passed to The Pilton Story on a visit to North Devon to research his family history. This link will take you to a photograph of their father John Brand Smith, and Jack a few years later.
