This is a poster from 1848 advertising the preaching of sermons at Pilton Church in aid of The Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (known as SPG). They were to be preached at 11am and 3pm on Sunday 16th July and afterwards a collection would be made for the same Society which was formed in 1701.
This poster was part of an exhibition of 'Pilton Then & Now' in Pilton Church in 2009.
