This was an annual outing by St Mary's Church Choir sometime in the late 1950s. The members of the choir have been identified as (l. to r.): Miss Florrie Abbott, Valerie Murch, Mrs Whiting, Mary Passmore, Mr Whiting (organist), Jennie Hobbs, Edith Hill (sister of May Brannam), Jim Brannam and May Brannam. Miss Edith Hill was a teacher at the Old Pilton School next to the church. If any one knows where the photo was taken, we would love to know.

Florrie Abbott taught at the old Bluecoat Boys School where Iceland is in Barnstaple today. Edith Hill was also a teacher.
