Twigs Flower Shop was established in Barnstaple in 1999 by Deryn Northam and, since then, has gained a reputation for exceptional flowers and service. In July 2017 it relocated from Mermaid Walk to the lovely Victorian shop in Pilton, formerly Linacre's Pottery, made by Albert Linacre into a hub of wonderful creative work after moving from London to Devon with his wife Maggie in 1977. Twigs' arrival in Pilton was partly thanks to Toby Joslin, heir to Albert's pottery in 2015, who had, while working with Twigs, made the Pilton property a delightful venue. It is hoped the opening of the flower shop will attract others to bring commerce back into the street.
Over the last few decades Pilton Street had lost a large number of its shops, so it is great to see new businesses coming in.
