Mary Spiegelhalter nee Harris, born in Barnstaple. Her 19th century dress was very fragile. Her brother-in-law, Eddie Spiegelhalter, lives at the bottom of Pilton Street. Her father-in-law, Cecil Spiegelhalter, came to Barnstaple with his family to teach at the Barnstaple Boys Grammar School in the 1930s. She was wife of the late Frank, and mother to Martin, Hugh, Marian and Phil. She died on March 7th 2008 aged 86 years.
