This photograph of Maypole Dancing was taken at the Pilton House Annual May Day Fayre in 1957 or 1958. It was posted on Facebook by Peter Bray on behalf of Rosalind Horton (neé Knight). Rosalind is the second girl in from the right, facing into the pole. Note that in the background there is no Rotary Gardens (which were created in 1974) and, beyond the North Road (constructed in 1938), you can also see the houses of Pilton Lawn which must have been very new at the time.
Thanks to Peter Bray and Rosalind Horton for this photograph.
