This photograph, taken on the lawn of Pilton House in the 1960s, most likely in 1961 or 1962, shows maypole dancing, probably at the annual May Fayre which was held there. This picture was posted on Facebook by Liz and Ken Stribling, as a result of which the following identifications has so far been made:

Third child in from left back row is Jill Fisher. The teacher on the left is Miss Hill (is this Edith Hill?) and standing next to her is Susan Frith. The 5th girl from the left on the back row is Jennifer Hill, and the 3rd from the right on the back row is John Shapland. The 3rd from the left on the front row is Janet Quick. The 8th girl from the left is Mary Green, now Drew, and next to her is Mary Sandra Ovey. The girl in back row right under the maypole is Joy Lawrence, then Thorne.
