Pilton Primary School Pupils in the Church Hall around 1950

Pilton Primary School Pupils in the Church Hall around 1950 /media/flashcomm?action=mediaview&context=normal&id=333
Description:

Peter Bray recalled his earliest memories of Pilton at the age of 5 in 1948. He attended school at Pilton Primary School and had a great time. Mr Claude Dix was the headmaster and among the teachers he remembers Miss Hill, Miss Turner, Mrs Hooper, Mr Jenn and Mr Rogers. This photograph shows pupils of Pilton Primary School in the Church Hall in the 1950s.

He also remembers being Head Choir Boy in Pilton Church Choir when the Rev. James West was the Vicar and Bert Whiting the Choir Master and Organist! Sunday School was in the Hall with Miss Paul and Arthur Hart. He also had 10 memorable years as Chairman of the 12th North Devon (Pilton) Scouts. A picture of the Scouts back around 1980 is also on The Pilton Story archive.

Thanks to Peter Bray for posting this photograph.
