Description:
The Laurie Passmore Cup is presented annually by the Devon Association of Ringers at a bellringing competition held in North and South Devon in alternate years. It was first awarded in 1981-82 following the death of Laurie Passmore in 1980. Laurie had been a bellringer in St Mary's Church, Pilton, for 43 years. Awarded at the same time, the Devon Association 6 Bell Major Final ringing for the Ross Shield is the most prestigious competition for call change ringers.
This photograph shows it being presented by his daughter Jean Seaber (on the right) in Ilfracombe in 2014. Thanks to Jean for letting us have this photograph.
