This picture from Keith Laity shows the Pilton Primary School Maypole dancing team all smartly turned out thanks to the guidance of teacher Miss Hill, in the grounds of Pilton House during the Spring of 1965. Although Miss Hill was the reception class teacher at Pilton Primary School she would, each year, select pupils from the top two classes (Miss Turner and Mr Morrish's classes) to be in the School Maypole dancing team. The pupils would practise in the playground for several weeks before putting on a show like this one at Pilton House. Keith also recollects going to dance at a Fete in South Molton in the same year.
