Shearford Lane, also known as Venn's Lane or Stinking Lily Lane for the wild garlic which thrives on it, is a typical Devon sunken lane. It originally led from Pilton to Playford, Blakewell and Blatchford Mills on Bradiford Water. It is also a County Wildlife Site - an important nature conservation site.
