Tony Sumners posted this photograph of the Bradiford V E Day 1945 Party on Facebook. His mum, Phyllis Elizabeth Sumners, is in the picture to the left of the nurse at the front. It was a fancy dress party held at the top of Bradiford. You can see the American Stars and Stripes around one of the banner carriers at the right front. It is reported that Americans were based in Broadgate House on Bellaire, just a short distance from this photograph, during World War II.
