The Village of Pilton filmed in about 1960

/media/flashcomm?action=mediaview&context=normal&id=423
Description:

In 2013 The Pilton Story was given a 7 minutes silent film - probably from a Super 8 - of scenes around Pilton. These included the view from Bull Hill House, and shots of Pilton Street, the North Road and Pilton Quay. This is a 3 minutes edit of that film to which we have added some captions. The quality is not brilliant. However, we have dated it from the cars seen and the fact that No 8 Pilton Quay and No 1 Pilton Street, which were demolished to 'improve' the junction in the 1960s, are still there.

We do not know who took the film, although it may have been the Corneys who lived in Bull Hill House at the time. We thank Albert Linacre for looking after it and passing the tape to us to transfer onto a digital format.
