Ken and Eileen German moved to live in 25 Lynbro Road, Pilton in 1965. Ken was assistant manager at Radio Rentals in Barnstaple and Eileen worked as a staff nurse initially at the old North Devon Infirmary and then at the new North Devon District Hospital. They were both active in the North Devon community. Eileen went to Young Wives in Pilton Church Hall whilst their daughters, Susan and Claire, attended the Pilton Playgroup. She was a founder member of Pilton Women’s Institute. They loved gardening, walking and the countryside, and to travel independently. Eileen died in 2012 at the age of 75 and Ken four years later at the age of 82.
