This is a transcription of an article by Graham Andrews which was the centrepiece of a full page spread in the North Devon Journal-Herald on Thursday 8th July 1982 about the very first Pilton Festival of the modern era which ran for most of the month of July. At that time there was no mention of Pilton Green Man who came to symbolise the festival in later years.
