The Annual Pilton Green Man Festival Parade reaches Pilton Street in 2005 /media/flashcomm?action=mediaview&context=normal&id=160
Description:

On the 3rd Saturday in July since 1982, the colourful Pilton Festival Green Man Parade proceeds from The Square, Barnstaple led by the Town Crier, Tom Evans, and the Samba Band. It passes along Barnstaple High Street, across Pilton Causeway and up Pilton Street to Pilton House and Rotary Gardens. The insistent, foot-tapping beat of the Samba Band can be heard well before the Parade reaches Pilton Street in time for the first Festival Pageant which takes place in the grounds of Pilton House at 12 noon. The Parade often numbers 200 men, women and children all in colourful costumes. Visit www.piltonfestival.co.uk for more of the Festival.
