The January 2000 Pilton Panto ‘Dick Whittington and his Cat’ was probably the 4th Pilton Panto of the modern era, although we lack programmes from earlier ones to verify that fact. This one was presented in the skittle alley of the then Chichester Arms in Pilton Street, now the Green Man Bar & Bistro. The landlords at that time were Jas and Derek Evans.
Under the direction of Hamish Patrick, the Panto helped contribute to the £3267 raised by the Chichester Arms in the year up to January 2000. This came from the Quiz Nights, Fancy Dress Nights, the Carnival and a number of specific appeals. The money was donated to Pathfield School, Welland House, Greenfields, Children’s Hospice South West and Pilton Village Hall.
This document is the programme for the Panto which had a cast of eighteen and a supporting crew (back stage and front of house) of another twenty or so and involved the Daystar and Pilton Schools of Dancing.
