Minnie Harding nee Reed was born and brought up in Pilton. Download this document which describes her reminiscences of life in Pilton made in the late 1950s (or possibly the early 1960s). At one time she lived in the rear half of Bull Hill House, which was owned by her mother. She remembers a maypole being erected at the top of Dark Lane, a greasy pole at the top of Pilton Street and the water pump outside the almshouses.
Minnie married Arthur Harding, and lived her long life in Pilton. She was related to the Reed family at the Reform Inn.
This has been written by Margaret Reed, one of her descendents.
