This is an account of the life of Frederick Richard Lee, the Victorian landscape artist who, from 1858 until his death in 1879, spent some of his time living at Broadgate House, Pilton. It includes an image of the one painting of Pilton which has come to light - ‘The Lane towards Pitt Farm, Raleigh in Pilton’ - which he painted much earlier in July 1830.
