The Yeo Dale Hotel dominates the skyline as you approach the historic area of Pilton from Barnstaple centre. In 1807 the distinctive Georgian frontage was added to the original 17th century house which still exists to the rear of the property. It was given the name of Yeo Dale in the early 1900s whilst in the ownership of William Pyke Gammon of Rawle, Gammon and Baker - the timber merchants, known locally as RGB, formerly located across the River Yeo.
In 1935 the house became a private hotel, and remains to this day a house of great character and fine workmanship. Inside, many of the original Georgian features are retained, including ornate plaster ceilings and a façade boasting a grand balcony and stucco embellishments.
