This photograph shows Capt Charles Pearce, the son of Charles Pearce Senior, who lived at Pilton House. Charles Pearce Junior was born in 1886, survived service in World War I and died in 1960 at the age of 74. He is buried in Pilton Churchyard with his father, mother, step-mother and brother, John.

He was married to Iris Pearce, nee Crook, and was the father of Cherry Pearce. He took his horse Tupenny, which used to be stabled at the back of Pilton House, to war.
