Postcard of Thanks from Westaway to a Dressmaker in Braunton Road c 1910

Postcard of Thanks from Westaway to a Dressmaker in Braunton Road c 1910 /media/flashcomm?action=mediaview&context=normal&id=769
Description:

This is a postcard of Westaway, Pilton, (sometimes referred to as Westaway House) to a seamstress Mrs Whale of 'Costumia', Braunton Road, Barnstaple, from a satisfied customer living at Westaway, following her purchase of a dress. The wording of the card is:

"Am delighted with dress, fit splendid, so am sending our house. Hope you will like it. No doubt you will see who is about. Kindest regards from both on seat. Your's L. Potter"

The postmark says June or July 25th, 1910.

Thanks to Marion Abbott (née Whale), the granddaughter of Mrs Whale the dressmaker for the postcard, which is a small insight into comfortable Edwardian life. Edward VII had died in May 1910 and George V was newly on the throne.
