This photograph shows Sheilah Mary Roscoe (daughter of Sam Gratton, a Barnstaple thatcher) and her daughter Susan Houston (neé Roscoe) outside 4 Fair View which was their home until 1970. They lived there with Susan's father Robert Roscoe and five sisters (Lynn, Lesley, Janette, Carol and ??) and one brother (Kenny). It was a "very wee house and the largest room in it, the front room, was off limits since it was kept for visitors only."
