The dream of HOPE 08 was that churches in villages, towns and cities across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland will work together like never before. It was about making Jesus known through positive involvement in our communities. It was about loving and serving people in the name of Jesus. It was about coming alongside our neighbours, listening to their needs and working in partnership with others. The Big Cream Tea held at Pilton House on 24th May was part of the Hope 2008 Devon initiative. St Mary’s Church invited its neighbours from Pilton Village to a free cream tea in the splendid gardens of the big house and 80 people came.
