In 1971, Devon County Council carried out a Study which reported on the Pilton Conservation Area in Barnstaple, Devon, and made recommendations for improvements to properties, many of which were without sanitary facilities, and to the built environment. The report proposes the listing of a number of buildings which subsequently took place later in the 1970s. It also proposes improvements to the village centre and what became Rotary Gardens in 1974. This document, found in Pilton, is now in the archives of Devon County Council in Exeter to whom thanks are due for the scanning.
